Guess the puncture competition…

Back in 2013 when we cycled from Land’s End to John o’Groats, Paul and I had a little game of guess the number of punctures over the 1100 miles we cycled. I was way off guessing 32 I think, in fact things went so well that nobody had a single puncture at all until we reached Scotland, and then they came thick and fast, as the picture of Paul and Brynjar looking at his rear wheel shows. Off the top of my memory I think the final puncture count for 1100 miles was about a dozen.

So, we will be cycling for 19-days, covering 1250 miles each, who wants to start the guessing at how many inner tubes we will get through between us? Of course the weather will play a part, if the roads are wet then there is an increased risk of thorns and debris in the sides of the road.

I just hope that Paul has learned how to put that rear wheel back on since 2013!
